No addresses after adding sender to address book

Asked by Mark Dutton

I have added numerous addresses to address book. When composing a new message and clicking on "To" no addresses are seen in the contacts window, even after looking through all the different categories. If I look in the contacts page all the addresses are there.

Make sure that the Select Contacts from Address Book dialog box (which comes up after clicking on the To: button in a new message) has the correct address book selected in the Address Book field.

For instance, my Address Book is maintained locally, so I have mine set to Personal.

If my Evolution were configured for a corporate LDAP directory, for instance, I might choose On LDAP Servers.

See if changing the Address Book source solves your problem.

I hope this helps.

Good Luck.

This could also be this bug: https://launchpad.net/bugs/47329

If so Mark, you might be able to add to that bug report to help resolve it.

Thanks Jim and Dean, my problem is only resolved by restarting my computer, not only by restarting Evolution as suggested in your links. Thereafter everything works fine so I guess we'll have to wait for the Dapper update as indicated in the other thread.
