Cannot delete duplicate inboxes

Asked by 2CV67

Hi!
For the last few days I have been playing with various backup tools (sbackup, Grsync etc) so doing tests of backup & restore.

Now I find my Evolution "On this computer" list contains 5 more Inboxes, 4 more Outboxes & 5 more Sent folders...
They are presented as folders with titles like "Inbox.ev-summary-meta.before_restore...etc"
They are mostly but not all empty.
I am unable to delete them, getting messages about "Cannot delete because not empty" even for the apparently empty ones.

Would appreciate any suggestions!

Thanks

You can solve the problem by purging your Evolution configuration. If you have some reliable backup of your mail, you can just erase the .evolution folder in your home folder. The folder is hidden and you have to choose Show Hidden Files to see it.

Thanks for that surprising (to me) suggestion, which seems to have worked OK.

Having dumped .evolution, I was surprised to see I could still open Evolution Mail OK from the panel Ikon & that my accounts & addresses were still there...

I tried a couple of Backup & Restore cycles with Grsync & no new folders have appeared.

So I guess I have still not understood the problem or the solution but the result is OK.

Thanks again!
