LMTP transmission failures - over quota

Asked by Loren41

Mail senders are receiving an LMTP transmission failure message. lmtp 550.5.2.2 Delivery failed. Over quota.

I am running Ubuntu 11.04 and Evolution 2.32.2. Where/how is quota set? I currently have no messages in my inbox, junk, or trash folders. My calendar, tasks, and address book are working fine. How can I restore service?

Alternate mail address is <email address hidden> if you can't reply.

http://www.vistax64.com/vista-mail/87429-vista-windows-mail.html says that "over quota" means you have too many messages on your email server. Evolution is an Email client, so I'm assuming that you are not running an Email server on your Ubuntu computer. This in turn means that the problem is not with Evolution or your Ubuntu system. It's a problem associated with whoever is servicing the accounts you specified in Evolution.

Can you help with this problem?
