Mail-evolution send and receive option not working

I have downloaded mail-evolution . All the inbox messages of The gmail account get downloaded for the first time only.The messages are now sent but received messages are not downloaded in the inbox .What is to be done for getting the latest messages in the inbox

Hello,

You will have better results by installing Mozialla Thunderbird.

As ahambidge, I abandoned Evolution for Thundirbird, and next Ubuntu version (11.10) will do the same.

Can you help with this problem?
