Evolution won't send mail these days

Asked by Shunsuke Akagi

My evolution won't send e-mail these days.
It used to work so setting should be OK.
I tried to specify port with :465 or :995 but it did not work. It used to work without it. I closed evolution once then restarted or disconnected online once. Anyway I tried many things. But it send e-mail occasionally somehow.

So it is working somewhat but it takes long time to send single word to myself as a test.

Anyway did someone change something or has my evolution got infected by virus or something?

Who is your email provider?

att.net

server is
pop.att.yahoo.com
smtp.att.yahoo.com

It could be att.yahoo side problem but I am just wondering someone changed Evolution. If not, it is OK. They will blame on software but I can avoid it, if nothing has changed.

by the way why "smtp.att.yahoo.com:465" won't work? It will be rejected every time.

I guess it's safe to assume that you have Yahoo Plus since that's the only way to forward email out of yahoo that I know of. Does sound like your provider changed something though, do they have a web page you can check on?

No. E-mail is going out even now. It just takes several minutes to go out even if it's very short mail.

Is there any way I can monitor what Evolution is doing?
