How to stop old emails from being resent onto my email

Asked by Gavin Gosney

I keep getting old stored emails resent onto my email system from perhaps a storage facility. Usually I will get up to 100 or so emails dating back a month or so..
I have tried altering my status on my provider to not hold emails after they have been forwarded to my computer.. This hasnt worked..
I need to be able to adjust something somewhere so that none of my emails that are sent to me are stored by my provider..
Does anyone know how I can achieve this?

I use Evolution for my email..

Under the evolution edit/preferences, select the account and click the edit button.
Under the Receiving Options tab, make sure the box is unchecked that says save messages on server.

Thank you so much.. The box was indeed checked and I have unchecked it now.. It will take a while before I know for sure if this has fixed the problem.. I will endeavour to return in a month to confirm that the problem is resolved.. Thank you once again
