how to sort the mails i receive. i want to sort by date

For some reason the mails i receive on the evolution is not getting downloaded by date. I had marked in the sort as by date but it is not working.

open evolution, or whatever email client you are using, and wait for the emails to download. Then in the window that shows the list of emails there will be a column with the header 'Date' . Click on this, and it will sort by date, either ascending, or if you click on it again, descending (newest first, or oldest first)
