Unable to delete event in evolution calendar

Asked by James Majeski

I want to be able to delete obsolete or changed events and recurring events. My calendar is currently littered with cancelled events and cancelled recurring events and changed events where I could not delete the old events. There are no menu options for deleting an event. A calendar that does not have an option for deleting an event is "NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME".

Creating a new calendar does not solve the problem.

I am not an expert user so if it involves using the terminal program, cut and paste is best as I do not wish to do something that would require a clean install.

I am using Ubuntu 10.10 with all the latest updates with very few modifications, so it should be close to the default. I do not plan on going to a different version until the next long term stable release becomes available.

I would appreciate it if you could include the instructions for deleting the entire calendar or even the entire evolution package if there is no way to delete recurring events and single events.

As I said before, I am a beginner. What you failed to mention is that your solution only functions when you select the specific event from within the calendar listing (month, work week, day, etc). Attempting a right click on an event anywhere else will not bring up a menu that includes delete.

Thank you for the clue as it caused me to try the right click everywhere the event to be deleted was displayed. This allowed me to clean up the calendar. Your clue was sufficient to prompt me to attempt right click and when I found the point were it did bring up a delete option in the menu, that solved my problem. Thank you.

I forgot to mention that there are no help pages that indicate that there is a delete option for events.
