error message when trying to backup evolution

I am trying to backup Evolution for the 1st time. When I go File>Backup Evolution Settings a window called "Select name of Evolution backup file" opens with a sub window saying "The folder contents could not be displayed. Operation not supported. "

Edit>Plugins says that I have the Backup/Restore plugin installed.

What am I doing wrong please?

Hi,
try to run Evolution as sudo (sudo evolution).

Thank you for your response but it does not seem to work.. If I use sudo evolution it gives a long list of errors and then tries to set up evolution. However, evolution is already setup and working just fine.

Ok, retry to backup your settings, ignore the message, click on "Desktop" in the left banner and try to save.

That worked for me, leastways it created a tar.gz file which seems to have all my email in it.
