How do I test account settings in Evo. Not sure peolpe are receiving my emailsto

I had reinstalled Ubuntu and everything (the internet included) works just fine except Evolution. Good thing I had backed everything up using Deja Dup (an absolute life saver) but even though all in/out messages were correctly returned to Evolution, the account settings did not. I subsequently transfered my account settings correctly and I can send a test to myself and receive messages but apparently no one is receiving my emails. Can anyone give me some direction on this please ?

Not sure what the exact problem was but I thing there may be 2 causes: (1) backing up faulty files: once restored, they will remain faulty and cause no end of problems and (2) I think the router may be at fault since the wireless part functions correctly but the wired part does nothing (except that I managed to up grade 11.05 and then it quit completely)
