Can't edit Preferences for deleted mail

Asked by walkkenn

When I try to edit preferences for deleted mail, I open up preferences, and then expand the "general" box as far down on the screen as it will go, but, I can't get to the bottom of the page where the settings for "deleted mail" are located. I can see the line "deleted mail", but there is no slide bar on the side of the box to get to the bottom of the page. I know there must be a fix for this. Thanks

It sounds like you are using a 800x600 resolution, and the window is 657 pixels.

Changing resolution to 1024x768 would allow you to see this window entirely. I'm not certain if you can resize this window or not.

HTH's.

Sorry, I'm using ubuntu 10.4 netbook on a 10" Asus. 1024 x 600 is the max resolution, and that's what I'm using.

I would create a bug for this. It unfortunately doesn't lack a bunch of bug reports.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/346208
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/281217

And that was a quick search.

Searching the evolution FAQ, found this lovely suggestion:

"You could use the Evolution Express version which is targeted for mobile and small-screen devices. It is included from Evolution version 2.30 on and can be enabled by starting "evolution --express" from the terminal window. "

Any changes in evolution should be regarded with 'great suspect' due to the high degree of integration with the desktop.

So, it doesn't look like theres a solution until someone fixes this. It doesn't appear to be a very high priority however.

Sorry I don't have better news, but hope this helps somewhat.

Oops I should have added, when I tested this in 10.04 LTS (do not have a maverick available today) I got:

"Unknown option --express"

Can you help with this problem?
