unable to send:GMAIL "name or service notknown"

Have enabled a gmail account using wizard. Showing smpt gmail.com as server.
Cannot send mail: response from Evolution is "Host lookup failed: name or service not known"
Can you figure what's wrong plse.?

Did you enable the pop mail on the Gmail site? You need to do this, it is not enabled by default.
