Widen Evolution side toolbar

Asked by Eric Weir

Is it possible to change the Evolution display so that the buttons for the various features on the left side -- e.g., mail, contacts, calendar, memos, and tasks -- are not displayed -- i.e., so that only the mailboxes display.

I don't imagine myself using the memos or tasks functions, and I'd like to have the option of selecting the contacts and calendar functionalities some other way -- from a menu or a button on the toolbar.

Thanks,

In the top menu select View - Switcher Appearance and check the Hide Icons box.

Note: you can select the different items via CTRL + 1,2,3 and 4 or via View - Window.

However, CTRL + 1,2,3,4 isn't working on my system. It would be convenient if it was. Any suggestions regarding that?

Thanks in advance,

I have no idea. Pressing CTRL + 2 switches to my address book.

I am running Gutsy however, with evolution 2.12.0. I don't exactly know when this feature was implemented.

Thanks, Jensen. I'm not actually using Evolution yet. I will eventually move up to Gutsy, and perhaps will find that it works for me then. Also contemplating transitioning to Kubuntu, and which check out Kontact if I do.

Thanks for the help.
