How do I find which Ports to use for Yahoo and Gmail when seting up Evolution and whether to use IMAP or POP ?

I am running Ubuntu 10.4, I am relatively new to Linux and Ubhuntu. I have Yahoo and Gmail accounts. i am trying to configure Evolution to receive and send mail- The sen/receive button to retrieve new mail is greyed out. I cannot retrieve mail from yahoo or Gmail from Evolution. However I can create a message and it will be saved in drafts and in outbox but I cannot send it or retrieve new messages, Calendar, Tasks, contacts work fine. I believe i did not ente correct information in prefeernces. I tried contacting Yahoo but no response. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
