Are you using Exchange?

I didn't know they had Exchange for Linux/Unbuntu -- No -- Evolution from Novell with Linux. Found I don't need to use MS windows via mcaffee virus anymore or Outlook Via MS Exchange.

Evolution is the only mail client AFAIK that can connect to Exchange. But doing this will make it very unstable.

I am using 3 POP accounts. At the time I found a button that did and unhide -- which showed me all the email that was in the inbox. I was trying to delete this hidden ( now showing ) email and when I couldn't, I clicked on Hide and that is when I received the two false unread emails that could not be seen -- unhidden or hidden.

It looks like a bug in Evolution. Not sure how to help you. I think you better file a bug report in Launchpad

Thank you for your efforts -- Problem solved ---- I booted up this morning and Grub loss the UBUNTU list and I didn't have a Linux boot disk. I could only boot to XP. I was hoping a reload of UBUNTU would just reload the OP system -- The reload formatted the Linux partition. So I loss everything on the partition -- even the bug in Evolution and all my work I save on the /Home partition --- GONE--- Lesson learned back up all to /HOST partition.

Thanks again

Cheers

I bang on about backups LOADS on here with people losing data all the time. People love learning the value of backups the hard way so don't worry, you are not alone.
