The simple means is to save your contacts as a vcard, copy that to your flash drive, then if you need to import them back into evolution (or other tools that support vcard importing)

Click on Contacts. From the "File" menu:
Select "Save Address Book as VCard"
A file prompt then allows you to save the file as you name it. Its default is to save as "list.vcf" in your home folder.

Plug in your flash drive. Icon should appear on the desktop, double click on it to open.
From the panel select "Places -->> Home Folder", this will open your home folder.
Drag and drop your "list.vcf" file, or whatever you named it above.

Should you need to import them back, simply select "File -->>Import" From the evolution main menu, then follow the prompts as the import wizard walks you through this.

Good luck.
