Re-order accounts in sidebar

Asked by Dan Gillmor

Is there a way to re-order the mail accounts in the sidebar? I have four that I keep in a particular order on a Mac and would like to rearrange. I'd also like to move the local folder to the bottom.

Unfortunately, you cannot sort them easily
You can rename the account, as it's sort by the name. You can for instance insert "1" "2" "3" before the designation.
However, the local folder will always be on top. That's the best I can propose for the moment :)

OK, thanks -- this seems like an obvious feature. Surprised it's missing.

Yes I agree. What you can do then is to propose this as a feature, or check if it's already proposed and support this idea. Of course, no guarantee it will make it happen anytime soon, but that's the way it works best with open source softwares: the community is doing a big part in the improvement of the software.

In Ubuntu, usually it's very easy: click on the "Help" menu, and choose "Report a problem...". You will be offered to fill a form in Firefox, describe briefly your problem, it will show you if other people already reported it. If one did, you can check his request, and there is a "I have this problem too" button I think. You can then click on this button and be informed when it's resolved.

I already filled your idea, it's bug #649610.

Can you help with this problem?
