Getting rid of my Evolution

Asked by Angelie Zavala

A lot of people use my computer and I don't like the fact that they can check my email. How can I signed out of it or delete the Evolution thing?

I'm not sure that will be possible as it is all linked into your account and security there so whomever has acess to your account wil have access to your data. Why are you so reluctant to have individual accounts It sounds ideal for your situation and will allow each user to use their own email and own application settings rather than a one glove fits approach...

Angelie, can you create a single "Guest" account that the other users of your system can use for their work? It really isn't possible to isolate your email or web browsing information, if every system user logs in to the desktop with the same username and pass phrase.

Hi Angelie
There is a way to create a password to your evolution email accounts and IM accounts, in addition to your log in password. Evolution, Empathy, Pidgin and Gwibber store passwords in Passwords and Encryption Keys. Most commonly the log in password unlocks this applications too. What you have to do is create another folder in this application and then give it a new password. This new folder will have your Evolution and IM accounts passwords. This way when you log in (gave your log in password) Evolution (and other applications) will still prompt you for another password.

I don't know if this is what you want. The previous suggestions are simpler to implement.

You might just want to delete your email account in Evolution.
Just open Evolution. Go to Edit-->Preference.
In the pop up window highlight the email account. Click delete.
