How to import evolution folders from a backup

Asked by Matti Tikkanen

I just installed Breezy and have problems importing my old evolution mail folders from a backup directory. As far as I rememnber, Import used to support importing old evolution mail folders. Now, importing folders is only supported from other mailers. Any idea how I can import the content of my old evolution mail folders?

You might find this page useful:

http://www.novell.com/documentation/nld/index.html?page=/documentation/nld/evolution/data/importing-mail-and-settings.html

You will have to import the MBOX files from your backup, one by one, i.e., your Inbox, Sent, etc.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the advice! That's exactly how I imported folders previously, but could not do it anymore. I seems that importing is only supported from other mailers.

I solved the problem by copying the .evolotion and .gconf/apps/evolution directories from the backup to the user directories under /home.
