Evolution Failed - Unfriendly setup

Let me add my voice to those going back to 2007. I really wanted to try Evolution when upgrading to 10.04. I was impressed when opening Evolution I found my account already set up (well maybe not). The correct pop and smtp information was loaded - so I tried the send receive. No connection. So I turned off the remember password - same results (I was never asked for my password). Opened/closed Evolution - same results. Went online to learn how I can manually add my server passwords. I see that I can't - and learn of massive confusion, not answered messages stretching back years. Why make this so hard for so many users?

I had same problem with evolution so i just didn't use it I use Thunderbird email, it can be found in software center, Internet, mail or in synaptic Manager.
