transferring non-running Evolution email

Asked by Commodore Hairy

Hi,
On one hard drive I have a copy of Ubuntu 9.10 which will not run because of corruption introduced when running a corrupt exe file in Crossover. I have a second installation of 9.10 on another drive from which I can access all the files on the first drive.
I am a novice at Ubuntu. How can I get my emails and addresses from Evolution installed on the original drive and insert them into my new copy of Evolution on a new drive?

All data and parameters are under folder ".evolution" in your user account.
You have simply to copy it on the new computer.

delance,
This was really simple. I used the Ubuntu GUI to do this.
I tried to do this from Terminal but although I was able to find the files using CD and Find in the drive I booted from sdb1 ext 4 I couldn't get to the drive sda2 ext 3 where the files were which I wanted to copy to (sdb1) How are the partitions designated for indicating a path?

I couldn't find a simple answer to this anywhere.

thanks so much

commodore

Type "mount" in a terminal and you will see in which path the physical hard disk are.

Can you help with this problem?
