unable to send messages

Asked by jhaskins75

Binary package hint: evolution

All my account information is correct [ mail.comcast.net / smtp.comcast.net ] and I can receive mail from my ISP server, but I cannot send any out within Evolution. If I open my web browser and use, ex. Yahoo, I can send my mail. What is the problem. There seems to be no way to check the pop ports for outgoing. I am using the latest release of Ubuntu

Thank you guys. I figured out the problem. I deleted the account and re-entered all new information, but this time I required smtp server authenticating which required my password to send. A little bothersome to see the window, but it works, and that's all that counts.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug.
