I get an error while trying to read the Global Address List from my Exchange Server. How do I correct this?

Asked by wrackley

The error message I receive states that the server listed for the GAL is wrong. How do I update the reference?

I had the same problem. In the preferences you need to set the IP address of your Exchange in the Global Catalogue Server Name setting, under 'Receiving Options'

Thank you for the response. The true IP address is not known.

I have entered the global catalog server as fqdn and IP address and in both cases I am requested to authenticate to the gal server with my ad creds. In all cases authentication fails. I can send and recieve mail but can not access my GAL. We are using hosted exchange. OWA does work through a browser and I am not requested to authenticate to access GAL through OWA. I only have this issue when using Evolution. Any ideas?

Thanks
