How to add Exchange account to Evolution?

Asked by Anton Kozlovsky

I can't get how to add Exchange account to Evolution.
Here are the steps I am doing:
1. Install evolution and evolution-ews
2. Run evolution as non-root
3. Enter my email as <username>@<domain>.com
4. Pick up Exchange Web Services. Enter host url that was fetch with outlook test connection utility.
In my case it looks like https://exchangecluster.domain.com/EWS

I stuck on this step. I am getting 404 error. I've tried different URLs. With https://exchange.domain.com the discovering process just hangs. With webmail.domain.com I am getting 404 error too.

https://www.linux.com/learn/use-evolution-connect-microsoft-exchange-linux

Are you sure you don't use a different URL? Something like:

https://exchange.domain.com/owa

Is common, you may want to ask your administrator what the full URL is

I've tried to run evolution with sudo and skip the autodiscovery process. It helps, but updating runs slowly and some of the new emails are not received. I have Outlook running on the remote desktop so I can monitor inboxes.

Looks like I faced with a Bug #1312888. Suggested workaround doesn't work for me.
Even more, after I recreated exchange account and rebooted I can't connect to exchange server, neither from root nor from non-privileged user.
Evolution makes me crazy...
