flash drive not being read

evince document viewer is unable to open a .odt document which is on a flash drive which is on a usb port. Can anyone assist with this problem?

Is the partition mounted?

if you run it from command line you should get intelligent output

evince /path/to/file.odt

Does it happen with other users? If so, log a bug

I've had a system crash today so have now reinstalled ubuntu so all previous problems now invalid thx
