to crop a pdf file

the pdf file i have has unnecessary dark areas on two sides. i need to crop them before printing them... otherwise the unnecessary shade will be printed in more than 500 pages... please help...

Open it with OpenOffice / Draw.
If the pdfimporte is installed... you can edit the pdf a bit.
Should be installed by default in Ubuntu 8.10 and 9.04 afaik.

I found a great tool for pdf cropping: http://sourceforge.net/projects/briss/ via http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/best-free-pdf-tools.htm . Briss does exactly what you want to do: cropping pdf files.
