start menu disappeared

my start menu and applications etc have disappeared from my tool bar so cant access anything but firefox how do i get them back

its not comin up with errors or anytihng when the computer is started up either

Right click on the grey bar across the top of your screen.

Choose Add to Panel...

In the Add to Panel... window that opens, scroll down and choose Main Menu.

That should bring everything back.
