Evince $ sign overwrite print error in PDF files

PDF-1.4 documents appear fine on the screen when viewing initially, but when printed to HP Deskjet F4185, the $ sign often overwrites the first digit in currency columns making it impossible to read. In some documents this would only happen if the currency is in bold, in other documents it would happen regardless of whether bold or normal. If HP-Deskjet-F4100-series is selected in the Print Dialog Box, clicking the Print Preview button produces the same $ sign error on the screen.

I can get around the problem for now by first printing to either .ps or .svg file and then printing from there - although the margins are different by default. Printing to .pdf file creates the same $ sign error as above.

PDF file properties name the software that produced the original PDF file. The problem is not limited to just one producer. Can supply producer details if required.

When printing PDF files containing currency columns, the $ sign should appear before the amount in numbers so that the figure can be clearly read.

The HP Deskjet F4185 has worked flawlessly with Ubuntu packages in recent years.
