PDF print highlighted text - evince

A document is printed to a b/w printer, the document is a pdf file where some text has been highlighted with green colour.

Issue: the printed document shows part of the highlighted text correctly while other is "covered" by the highlight and is not printed.

Does anybody noticed the same behaviour? May it be a bug in evince?

Can you change the highlight to a lighter colour like yellow, is it the same?

I believe all highlighting will produce the same effect even in Acrobat. Due to this limitation, I have switched from highlighting to placing a box around text, as this does not obliterate the text when printing.
