School Password Protected PDF's do not open with evince

Asked by Trista on 2012-03-04

Hi, I am needing to find a program or add-on to the PDF reader that comes with Ubuntu 11.10. I can type my username and password into the PDF file, but when I click on unlock, it does not open the file. I have tried loading virtualbox with windows XP to try and open them, but currently virtualbox does not give me access to my file system so I can access those files. I have tried a few of the PDF readers in the Ubuntu software store, but all of them seem to hang, and don't allow me to read them. I am deffiniteley not looking for a hack or crack as I don't want to get kicked out of school just because I can't open the files... Are there any downloadable or online programs that you know of that can help me with this?

Thanks

you can download and install the acrobat reader from adobe's site. www.adobe.com

are you sure you typed the password in correctly? i have had no problems with evince.

You could try installing Adobe Acrobat Reader, see if it helps

Can you help with this problem?
