PDF Displays with incorrect font

Asked by Dale Maris

I received a PDF document and it displays with an incorrect font. This PDF was created on a Windows machine and I am on Ubuntu Desktop LTS 10.04. Is there some issues with the font in the PDF not on my computer and its picking up a different default font?

I have verified that I have the latest version pf Acrobat installed. Not sure what fonts I need to verify. Thanks for your help.

Try the adobe reader, its proprietary but may work. Log a bug (I suggest you add screenshots)

I am using Adobe Reader 9.3.3 to open and display PDF documents. Adobe Reader was included in my install so I have been using it all along. I having a hard time with screenshots. I will work on getting them.

2 probably causes for this.

1) the person used a font that can't be embedded into acrobat.
2) the person didn't set the setting to embed the font.

You can find out by clicking on the right arrow that's below the toolbar.
