Whenever I start evince, I get the following warnings from the kernel:

I'd log a bug. Sounds like evince is having issues talking to dbus.

Have you tried uninstalling evince then reinstalling it:

sudo apt-get --purge remove evince; sudo apt-get --purge autoremove; sudo apt-get install evince
