Error when launching eric

When launching eric I get the following error:

Could not download the requested file from https://eric-ide.python-projects.org/plugins6/repository.xml.
Error: TLS initialization failed

How do i fix this ?

Which Ubuntu release are you running, and how did you install eric?

What is the output of the commands (to be executed in a terminal window):

uname -a
lsb_release -crid
apt-cache policy eric

Can you open the page https://eric-ide.python-projects.org/plugins6/repository.xml with your web browser?
