Picture size for upload

I would like to upload a picture to myspace but the picture is 800.5kb and I would like to know if it is possible to get it to 600kb

Hi, this shouldn't be too hard. Just open the picture up in GIMP Image Edtior and hit Save As Copy, change the name to something else and hit Save. Then, check Show Preview in Image Window to see the file size and slide the Quality up or down depending on how big you want the file. I would recommend lowering the file size to about 100kb-200kb. I hope that helps!

Oh, and if you want something simpler, try opening it in gThumb Image Viewer, you can resize, crop, and do other basic stuff pretty easily.
