how do I rotate pictures in my picture file so when I upload them they appear the way I choose?

I have pictures on my yahoo account that I need to put in my picture file. once they are there they are in a form othere than jpg and I cannot upload them to the sites including FBook . the pictures need to be rotated. I need to know how to do this.

Example;

convert -rotate 90 inputimage.jpg outputimage.jpg
