Pressing ESC to close dialog?

Asked by Leo

Hi,

I am switching to Empathy 2.28.1.1
Is it possible to set the Esc key to close the chat windows?
If not, is it possible to enable that in future updates?

Thank you!

Currently the close chat windows shortcut is ctrl+w . Unfortunately I can't think of a way to change it to the esc key.

Hi,

if a feature is requested, please log a bug with Launchpad. Explain also why it should be accepted.

I believe that if Empathy has a plugin system as Pidgin, could be implemented easily.

Or better, download Empathy source and begin toying with it.

if you set "Editable shortcut keys" within gnome's appearance dialog, you can set it to ctrl+esc, or something similar, by hovering over the menuitem and pressing the key combo..

unfortunately, you can't set esc directly (this way) as it's also the default key for closing a menu...

I'm raising a feature request for this..

Can you help with this problem?
