you have an option by which you can do so.. see
edit ==> preference
see the behaviour part and there is the option is present

every time after i login in ubuntu, i manually execute empathy, and, after this, empathy login tomy gmail account. But, i wish that would be after I logged into the system, the program itself is loaded and login

a developer said to me in a bug at upstream that this is not possible see in this bug

sorry about my english

or run:

cd ~/.config/autostart; ln -s /usr/share/applications/empathy.desktop
