You haven't provided any details about what version of Ubuntu you're using, what version of Empathy you're using, or what happens when you try to use Mxit in Empathy, or if the problem is that you don't know what initial steps to take to attempt to use Mxit in Empathy, but perhaps you are suffering from bug 573857. I recommend going to that bug page and, if the description there describes what you've experienced, indicate that the bug affects you by clicking the green "This bug affects..." link near the top of the page; you may also want to subscribe to that bug. You'll probably have to use Pidgin instead of Empathy to get Mxit to work, but if you want to try to get it working in Empathy then please provide all the detailed information I mentioned above.
