upgraded from 10.04 to 10.10 cant access yahoo anymore

Asked by Peter T Butler

In 10.04 i use to have a selection of places I can add to access from for use in empathy.
I lost this list when I upgraded to 10.10 and also can't access Yahoo so I can make contact
through empathy, the only one that works is facebook, that remained when I upgraded yahoo
did not come across.

yes i downloaded all the updates i could
There is some I could not complete because they asked for the disk 10.10 i386
which I had downloaded but it wouldent accept that disk
the system on my netbook was installed from the internet
The disk was made on another computer and it was 10.10 i386 but it was not accepted

Ubuntu never asked to me for the cd in 4 year doing updates, upgrades and release upgrades...

Please open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo apt-get --fix-missing install
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.
