video gtalk on empathy unable to connect to other computer that has windows

using empathy i havent been able to web cam. i read that only gmail works. but when i try to web chat is says "Codec negotiation failed: There was no intersection between the remote codecs and the local one."

you have to install the required codecs. please install ubuntu-restricted-extras quit empathy and then try to call again. I hope that solve the problem
