Please double click on the contact whose chat you wish to delete first, when the chat window appears on the top menu select Conversation -> Clear.

Your Done ! You will have to do this one by one for each conversation.

Empathy logs all conversations by default it seems, my apologies I also only just found this out.

The logs are under: ~/.local/share/Empathy/logs

To remove the logs just execute: rm -fr ~/.local/share/Empathy/logs

Or use Nautilus, Make sure you click show hidden files, navigate to .local/share/Empathy/logs and you can go through and selectively delete the conversations you want.

Can you help with this problem?
