Gadu-Gadu Network Error

I have a Gadu-Gadu account i created via pifgin, there are no contacts in it (no clue if it matters). now i am trying to log into it with empathy and all I get is a "Disconnected - Network Error" message, it will not connect under any circumstances.
Do I have anything wrong (did not change anything in the default config) or is this an issue with the IM Client or maybe the protocol (I installed the svn version of libgadu with no success in getting it to work).

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pidgin-developers/ppa; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get upgrade; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Should help with pidgin.

I have the same problem.
When I try to connect to my gadu-gadu account Empathy just displays information: "Disconnected - Network error".
I haven't used Pidgin.

Can you help with this problem?
