why i cant download yahoo messenger?

i have download the empathy packages. and i found out, when i use empathy, some of the button that i used to use in the yahoo messenger is not there. for example, i can't having a conference with a group of friend of mine which i really need to make one. please. i need the answer.

What version of Ubuntu are you using? I have Ubuntu 10.04 and Empathy supports Yahoo.

There is yux and pidgin which may work instead.

i'm not sure as my sister install this linux ubuntu in my laptop. mybe i'll try pidgin. yes! i've download pidgin and it can be use for yahoo messenger conference. overmind, i've use empathy before, but i cant having a conference with my friends. and now, i will start using pidgin cause it can use to make conference. thanks a lot fr the help.
