Can Skype account be used in empathy?

I would like to use one app for all my messenger accounts. One of them is SKYPE. Is it possible to set up empathy to connect to Skype?

unfortunately, it is not possible at this time to use skype on empathy.

there is a Skype version for Linux if you want. you can download it from the link below http://linuxappfinder.com/package/skype

Thanx But I am running Skype, I want to get my Googlechat, MSN and Skype account in one applet. Looks like I'll have to wait....

Theoretically you can with 'pidgin-skype' plug-in from the software centre. There are bugs however which you can follow here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pidgin-skype/+bug/551164

I can't get it to work on 64bit. Maybe 32bit will work.
