emerald package

Can't make any changes to emerald without program closing

I have installed emerald theme manager in 11.04 and did all the necessary steps to get it working, and it works great, however when I try to change any of the changeable values to any of the emerald themes installed, the program closes automatically as soon as I release the mouse button. It never gives me the chance to save the changes. Can you please help me resolve this problem? Thank you in advance for your help.

How did you install emerald?
What is the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a; apt-cache policy emerald

I installed emerald from the software center but it would not work, so I entered into the terminal

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:malteworld/compiz
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

and after that it worked, but with the problem it now has. The output you asked for is
