Emacs in Ubuntu 12.04 and app-defaults

Asked by Tong Sun

Hi,

My app-defaults setting for my emacs has been always working until Ubuntu 12.04.

Anyone know what has changed to define the emacs look and feel from Ubuntu 12.04?

Thanks

Starting from Ubuntu 12.04, emacs now uses GTK+ user interface. Period.

Can't I have a emacs that looks like Unix, Ubuntu?! I lost xterm-like scroll bar years ago, now the whole Unix-like look and feel!

Sigh. . . Ubuntu is kissing the Windows a@# and neglecting people from Unix. Yuck.
