no connection

Hi, I am trying to use ekiga and have left most settings on default but when I try the echo test, nothing happens. The address I dialed disappears and SIP: remains. It seems there is no connection at all. In preferences, my outbound proxy is blank, and when I go into accounts, ekiga.net sip service and ekiga.net both say, "could not register(unauthorized). I have registered and got a SIP for myself.

I would like to drop skype and move to Ekiga, but I cant seem to get past the second step.
