import contacts

Asked by francus

It is possible to use Ekiga to call landline phones, using for example a service like voipbuster. However you need to manage contacts with phone numbers.

Applications as voipbuster and skype allow to export contacts as a VCard file (.vcf) or Voip contact file (.vcc) or Messenger contacts (.ctt).

Is there any way Ekiga can import these files? If not, do you plan to implement it?

Also it would be helpful to be able to export contactsfrom Ekiga to these standard formats.

I have about 150 contacts, each with associated telephone number, it is no easy to keep it updated, especially if you are using it on different machines.

Best regards

Francesco

Thanks for your question.

Ekiga is able to use your Evolution address book. As Evolution allows you to import contacts in various formats, this might help you.

In my opinion Ekiga has a lot space for improvements. Yet, it's still the best integrated SIP-solution to the gnome desktop.
