hai , should v need Internet for using Ekiga

hai ,
i want to use a soft client in LAN which can be used for voice and video calls.Is ther any application? I think ekiga supports this..bt i am nt sure whether it function without internet? is Ekiga works without internet ? (i dont like NetMeeting for my use )

Hi,

Yes Ekiga does work without internet. For this feature it uses the Avahi software. Discovery of other Ekiga users in the LAN is automatic. Text, audio and video is supported in this mode as well as for the internet.
