voice and video chat over LAN

my institute is setting up a wireless lan in the campus.
it would be great to have an application which would help me to do voice and video chat over lan with my friends!
please suggest me an application which can serve my purpose.

Try Ekiga. You can all sign up to ekiga.net and then use these accounts as the address. Ekiga can also detect other clients on the local net and start a chat directly.
